ANTIMONY SULFIDE presents a serious fire risk if exposed to oxidizing agents. Crystals burn with a blue flame when heated in air [Mellor 9:522 1946-47]. Emits toxic antimony and sulfur oxide fumes if heated to high temperatures. Reacts with concentrated solutions of chloric acid with incandescence [Mellor Supp. II Part I:584 1956].
